WHAT CHANGES HAVE WE MADE?

One example is our workwear t-shirts, where we’ve significantly reduced water used in the dyeing process, ranging from 10L to 130L per garment across the range, representing a substantial 11–14% decrease. On top of this all our garments have had a reduction ranging from 90L to 330L per garment – this reflects a 9% to 14% decrease in usage compared to two years ago (depending on garment). Importantly, we clearly state the water usage on every product – helping us remain transparent and accountable.

We take water conservation even further by ensuring that all water used in the dyeing process is thoroughly treated. Every supplier in our supply chain recycles the water to meet the environmental standards of their respective countries, by removing all chemicals they ensure it’s safe for processing through local treatment facilities – ultimately making it safe for human use.

A business can make a bigger impact

As a business water savings should be part of everyone’s broader commitment. At ØRN it is just one element of our long-term strategy and broader commitment to reducing resources. We are constantly working to improve sustainability across our entire supply chain from sourcing responsible materials and partnering with ethical companies – recently receiving Global Recycled Standard (GRS) Certification for yet another year.

This Water Saving Week, we encourage everyone; businesses and individuals alike, to take action. Reducing dependency and saving water is an investment in our planet. Let’s all be hero’s and save water where we can.
