The entire chain of custody is supported by the Content Claim Standard (CCS), which ensures that sustainability claims are verified at every step. Since materials often come from multiple global sources, it's crucial to confirm and verify with companies that the original (one or more raw material inputs) recycled or certified fibres remain in the final product. It is a process that requires third parties to operate with full transparency.
At each stage of production, a Scope Certificate (SC) is issued to confirm that the facility meets the necessary standards. As products move through the supply chain, a Transaction Certificate (TC) is also created for every order or batch, verifying the transfer of certified materials from one business to the next. Currently the TCs produced are shared between every business involved in the production of our sustainable garments, these TCs are issued to the producer and recipient and completed with every new order/batch.
To maintain these certifications, the chain of custody is reviewed annually. This process guarantees that ØRN, along with all its partners, continues to maintain the integrity of processes for our sustainable garments.
Description from Global Recycled Standard (GRS), Textile Exchange
"The foundation of all Textile Exchange standards is the Content Claim Standard (CCS). It’s a chain of custody standard that gives companies a means of verifying that one or more raw material inputs are in the final product." (Textile Exchange).
